Finger Scanners Coming to Schools

Schools around the country are making use of fingerprint scanners to increase their security and reign in on truants. These devices, which only cost about $30 per student (though this cost can vary depending on a school’s size), make attendance-taking more accurate and save schools money in administrative costs.
Finger scanning in the classroom is faster than the traditional roll-call of attendance. It is easy for a friend to yell “present” for someone while the teacher blusters through the attendance list. This is a problem not only in terms of kids missing class, it can be a safety issue too. If a child is missing, the school needs to know as soon as possible, and a finger scanner allows for that. Scanners also allow for tighter control the of teachers and staff, ensuring no one is entering the school under false pretense.
Schools are only starting to make use of fingerprint time clocks. The future may see the practice extended to parents entering the school, school buses and more. It is hard to argue with a technology that saves money and allows a safer environment. Some parents have, however, raised concerns about privacy and how fingerprints and other recorded information are stored and shared.

Fingerprint Time Clocks And a Year Of Punctuality

As employees become comfortable with their working environment leniency tends to rule the workplace. Allowances are made for the good workers and the system runs on trust. This is a wonderful thing, no doubt, but when does it become an issue? Punctuality in the morning is of utmost importance. An office that starts the day off properly will always triumph in the end. If things fall behind right from the start it has a domino effect and the consequences linger throughout  the remainder of the day.

With fingerprint time clocks this pretty much becomes a non-issue. Your good workers will want to be punctual when they know it matters to you because that's what they do- they get things done and they do it well.It is one way of having the office acknowledge that certain things are not to be debated, even if leniency is allowed for valid purposes. An attendance system also tracks permitted breaks, vacation time, overtime, etc. allowing your employees freedom in how they work, as long as they clock-in and clock-out.

The beginning of the year is a good time to introduce new practices since everybody is starting fresh anyway. It will ensure a smoother transition than an introduction after everybody has already grown comfortable.

Biometrics Are A Huge Step Forward For Security and Identification

You may have noticed that in the last few years people have been jumping on the biometrics train. It makes business run smoother. It has multiple applications, from organization, to security. For example, a biometric time clock will check-in employees each morning and check them out as each day comes to a close. It can track breaks, it can organize schedules. It will do the work for you, and be able to give you accuracy for employee paychecks based on clocked hours. The fingerprint door locks keep offices and homes safe. They have a database with records of the accessible fingerprints.

What we are seeing now is a rise in the complexity of these machines. Biometrics are the future for airport security and home security. With touch screen devices we will start seeing the fingerprint as a replacement for autograph, or at the bare minimum be an added security feature to coincide with our autographs. This is not science fiction. This is the future. Biometric technology can record fingerprints, facial structure, and iris patterns.

If you are going to stay updated with technology, biometrics are a start. Get your office a few fingerprint time clocks and keep a look out for the latest software.

Fingerprint Time Clock and Accountability

Let’s be honest, we have all done it; Had a classmate mark you as present when you were in fact absent,
or had a co – worker punch your time card when you were running late. The fact of the matter is people
want to do the right thing, but when there is not accountability, they can falter. Fingerprint time clocks
makes us be our best selves by encouraging us to show up on time, and accepting responsibility when
we can’t. It makes it easy to do the right thing, by removing the shortcuts and excuses.

The fingerprint door lock is another useful accountability tool. We would all love to believe that we are
immune to forgetting our keys, and that no nefarious entities can get them. The fact of the matter is, an
average 360,000 homes get broken into a year in the United States. Often by people who obtain or copy
keys. Don’t assume it won’t happen to you. Be secure with a fingerprint door lock. The futuristic look
of the lock alone is enough to deter most crooks. Now you do not have to worry about how many copies
of your keys are floating around when you move to a new home.

No More Buddy Clock Ins

employee clock in software
There are numerous benefits to fingerprint reader software and facial recognition for clocking in and out. One of those benefits just happens to be the elimination of a coworker clocking in for you. I'm sure many of us have been tempted before to call our buddies at work when we're running late to clock us in. No one wants to lose pay or get in trouble with the boss. But we have to remain honest and docked pay will certainly teach us not to be late again.

Fingerprint time clocks will make this scenario impossible to achieve, unless you're secretly a spy or a tech junkie and know how to create a silicon finger print. But isn't that a little extreme for a desk job? I guess it's not more extreme then chopping off a finger...well actually that would only work if it were within seconds of severing because the sensor detects the moisture and warm temperature of a live finger.

With the impressive technology of FingerTec, your employees will remain honest, and hopefully on time. There is no need to ponder about them cheating you out of money. The technology is there, so why not use it?

Time Clock Software is for Small Businesses Too!

timekeeping software
Time clock software is becoming increasingly advanced, making life less complicated for both employers and employees. Instead of outdated time cards, small to medium sized businesses are beginning to implement fingerprint time clocks and similar technology.

Biometric time clocks are no longer just for large companies. These high-tech products are now available at low prices for businesses of any size. The FingerTec TA100 series, for example, provides service to any number of employees. Users put their fingerprint into the memory system and then are able to access the time clock with a press of a fingertip. The attendance system is so easy to use that even the techno peasants of the company will be able to use it.

This timekeeping software abolishes any need for passwords, identification cards, and PIN numbers and makes honest employees out of everyone who uses the system since there is no way to fudge the hours or have someone clock out on another’s behalf. Each employee is able to get paid accurately without a dispute over whether the employee was overpaid or underpaid for services. The software is also economically and environmentally beneficial since it eliminates paper waste from timecards.

Employee clock in software is a worthy investment; it is beneficial to both employers and their employees.

A Fingerprint Time Clock Saves the Company Money

fingerprint time clockWhen you need to track who's where when, technology can help. I'm the head of HR for a small auto insurance company and we recently made the switch to a fingerprint time clock. Suddenly, everyone is making a little bit less each week. Whether it's due to not counting their lunch hour or adding a couple of minutes here and there, there's no way to check in without using your  fingerprint in the finger scanner.

The fingerprint time clock allows us to track exactly how much time is spent at the office, and it also does away with hard to read time sheets and other difficulties in time tracking. Overall, it makes my job a lot easier to record and share employee tracking times, so I don't have to get as stressed out and our employees don't have to worry about their handwriting.

Technology has really changed the way a lot of businesses work. It's great to see it enter the workplace too. And as technology improves and the global marketplace shrinks, it will be interesting to see how the workplaces changes too. I am excited to see how fingerprint time clocks continue to influence security and attendance within small businesses.

April Showers Bring May..Clocking Systems?

FingerTec TA300

This past month, we have all been experiencing those famous April showers. But now that we are almost past those weeks filled with rain (though it's still going in some places across the country), we are able to reflect on how weather affects employers and their staff.

Most rainy days also create set backs for millions of Americans who are commuting to work in crazy weather. This often corresponds with millions of late arrivals at work locations around the nation. But if you were to take a closer look at the reports issued a month after these events, you may not see that sharp increase in late arrivals. How can something that we all feel is happening, not be on the actual reports? The answer may not be pretty, but it's true. A lot of employees clock in for one another. Call it rainy day comradeship, or simple disobedience, but the fact is that this is happening in almost every company. With technology advancing, we are now able to see many employers battle this trend by using state of the art biometric time clocks. These advanced systems help to make sure that employees clock in for themselves. By using these fingerprint time clocks, employers are taking charge of their money once again.

Fingerprint Time Clocks Keeps Employees Honest

Have you notice lately that maybe one or two of your employees seem to be getting paid for hours that it doesn't seem they've worked? You could've sworn they only worked 35 hours that week, but their time sheet says 42. When it happened one week, you let it go, thinking they may have worked after hours when you already left the office. But when they took 2 days off for vacation, but seemed to have more time than feasible on their paycheck.

You hate to think that any employee could be dishonest, but it happens. And it's very easy to do with most attendance system set ups. Other employees can clock in for each other as long as they have the right ID or access code, or however else you may have your clock ins set up.

But fingerprint time clocks can save you the trouble. There's no way someone can clock in for another person because each employees fingerprint is recorded. It can't be duplicated in any way, it has to be the actual finger in order for them to clock in and out for the day. You won't have to worry about carefully going over hours again, you'll know you can trust there's no way around the system.
